IT Contracts and Technology Law: Key Takeaways from a Cross-Company Training Program

IT Contracts and Technology Law: Key Takeaways from a Cross-Company Training Program

In September 2023, we delivered a five-day cross-company training program on technology law for professionals involved in digital projects.

The program was designed to address several key topics from a practical perspective, including IT contracts, intellectual property, software license audits, and emerging technologies.

Securing Digital Projects from the Outset

IT projects raise a wide range of contractual and legal issues, including the scope of services, service levels, rights in software and custom developments, liability, reversibility, and software licensing terms.

One of the main objectives of the training was to help participants identify these issues early enough to better secure the preparation, negotiation, and performance of their projects.

Bridging Legal and Technical Expertise

The success of a technology project also depends on the ability of legal and IT teams to work from a shared understanding of the project’s constraints.

Technical teams understand system architecture, functionality, and operating requirements. Legal teams assess contractual commitments, liability, intellectual property rights, and regulatory requirements.

This cross-company training program was specifically designed to bring these two perspectives together and provide participants with practical tools that they could apply directly to their digital projects.
